Life and Death

Islam teaches that the life we live on earth is a temporary test. It contains decorations, adornments, play, and too much pride in name and fame that, if one is not careful, might distract human beings from the main purpose of living: "Worship Allah" the one and only supreme creator and sustainer of the universe.  Satan, as he promised, is believed to play a huge role in ways and means to distract human beings from worshiping the one and only God/Allah (monotheism)      

Once a human being completes his/her prescribed time on earth, the angles of death visits that person to take back the soul and return it to Allah, the source of that soul.  Then, eternal life is the hereafter.  Paradise or hellfire would be the final destination, depending on the content of that person's book of deeds.
